The Invisible Braces Alternative!

invisalign bracesWe are very excited to offer Invisalign as an alternative to braces! Also known as "invisible braces", Invisalign uses modern technology to create nearly invisible aligner trays customized for you to straighten your teeth. These smooth, flexible aligner trays are changed out about every two weeks until the end of your treatment. They are virtually invisible, so most people won't even notice you are straightening your teeth! They provide little to no disruption to your daily routine as well, since you can take them out to eat and to brush and to floss. Invisalign is a great way to achieve that straight, beautiful smile that you have wanted, while not having to go through the process of traditional braces.

Invisalign FAQs:

Frequently Asked Questions about Invisalign:

  • How often do I change my aligners?
You will change your aligners approximately every two weeks.
  • How much do I wear my aligners?
The suggested wearing time for the aligners is 22 hours a day. This allows you to take them out to eat and to brush and floss, but otherwise, you should be wearing your aligners the rest of the time.
  • How many aligners will I have?
The number of aligners that you will have depends on your specific course of treatment. You can have anywhere between 5 and 48 aligners, depending on what is needing to be done. We will review your case with you, at a second consultation appointment, where you are able to see the digital results of what Invisalign has done for doctor's prescription for you). There, you will be able to see the number of aligners that your case will need to achieve the desired end result.
  • Will my speech be affected?
There is an adjustment period to wearing your aligners, typically only a couple of days to a week and your speech will return to normal, as with any temporary appliance.
  • Is it going to hurt?
As with any type of movement of the teeth, there will be minimal discomfort involved. Any over the counter pain reliever helps to relieve the discomfort you may feel when changing to a new aligner. Typically, the discomfort only lasts a day to a couple of days, and as you move through treatment, the discomfort levels decrease dramatically.
  • My child is interested in Invisalign as an option to traditional braces. Is this possible?
We treat many teenagers in Invisalign! Please call for a consult to see if your child is a candidate for Invisalign treatment.
  • What happens after I'm done with my treatment?
When you are finished with treatment, we have a retainer program that allows for up to four new retainers after your treatment is completed. As with any type of tooth movement, your teeth will constantly be shifting depending on daily stressors and pressure that is put on them. You will wear retainers at night to make sure you don't get any unwanted tooth movement.
  • I heard Invisalign is very expensive. Is this true and what financing options are offered?
Invisalign treatment cost is dependent upon the provider that you see for your treatment, but is typically about the same cost as traditional braces. We do offer alternative financing options and will be happy to discuss these options with you on the day of your consultation!
